East Fork State Park

Located approximately 17 miles west of Mt Orab, East Fork State Park is a well-known destination among local anglers and the perfect place for a day trip. Established in the late 1970s, this state park covers nearly 5,000 acres around the East Fork of the Little Miami River. This state park can be reached in just 25 minutes by car via Starling Road and route OH-125.

Although this state park offers a myriad of recreational facilities, fishing is the most popular activity among its visitors. Some of the species you can find in the waters of the Little Miami River include smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, white crappie, bluegill, flathead catfish, channel catfish, carp, and striped bass. This place features fishing piers, public boat ramps, and a 1,200-foot swimming beach.

Rocky Fork State Park

Offering public access to 2,080-acre Rocky Fork Lake, Rocky Fork State Park is an excellent destination for local anglers and the perfect place for a day trip or a weekend getaway. Established in the 1950s, this state park features plenty of boat ramps, swimming areas, hiking and biking trails, picnic spots, marinas, boat ramps, and fishing piers.

Rocky Fork State Park is located less than 30 miles northeast of downtown Mt Orab and can be reached in approximately 35 minutes via route OH-138. Some of the fish species anglers can find in Rocky Fork Lake include white bass, channel catfish, flathead catfish, bluegill, and crappie. This nature reserve is open to the public Monday – Friday between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm.

Paint Creek State Park

Established in the early 1970s and covering approximately 5,600 acres, Paint Creek State Park is a sprawling public recreation area that draws anglers and water sports enthusiasts from all over southern Ohio throughout the year. Some of the fish species you can find in the waters of Paint Creek include bluegill, catfish, bass, and crappie.
